Julio R. Rivera, M.D., F.A.C.S.

After receiving an undergraduate degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and a medical degree from Texas Tech medical school in Lubbock, Dr. Julio Rivera completed his surgery residency at the University of Kansas.

Currently in private practice with the Surgical Weight Management Solutions,
Dr. Rivera focuses mostly on advanced laparoscopic abdominal procedures. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Surgery and has been performing advanced laparoscopy for more than seven years.

Dr. Rivera is active and recognized by the following organizations: Texas Medical Association, American College of Surgeons and Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons.

Born in Peru, Dr. Rivera grew up in South Texas and is fluent Spanish. He is an avid soccer player and attends church regularly. He enjoys reading and spending time with his family.

Sina Matin, M.D., F.A.C.S.

Dr. Matin is Board Certified with the American Board of Surgery, a member of the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery and has been performing advanced laparoscopic procedures for more than eight years. He is currently in private practice with the Surgical Weight Management Solutions and works within the Baylor Health Care System. He was named by D Magazine as one of the best D/FW surgeons in 2004 and 2005. He follows a consultative approach with his patients and often stays in touch with them following their procedures.

After receiving his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Dr. Matin completed his surgical residency and research fellowship at the University of Texas in Galveston. He also attended Baylor College of Medicine Advanced Laparoscopic Fellowship in Houston. He received his undergraduate and masters degree from Old Dominion University in Virginia.

Dr. Matin is active and recognized by the following organizations: Texas Medical Association, American College of Surgeons, Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons, Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society, American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery, Society of American Gastrointestinal and Endoscopic Surgeons and American Obesity Association.

Dr. Matin enjoys soccer, windsurfing and camping. His wife, Sara, is a nurse and together they enjoy spending quality time with their two children.
